When it comes to trucks, the full-size models tend to get most of the publicity and attention in today’s market. That’s understandable given how popular they are, but the midsized trucks from various manufacturers tend to get lost in the fray sometimes. In actuality, some of the blame for this lack of focus lies squarely on the shoulders of the brands themselves.
Ford and Chevy in particular left their midsized truck offerings out in the cold. Ford even completely abandoned the segment in the North American market for quite some time. The same can’t be said, however, for Toyota.
In fact, Toyota has arguably the strongest midsized truck contender in the entire class with the Tacoma. It’s a solid, rugged performer in every way. Plus – the fact that it’s a Toyota certainly increases its appeal. When you opt for a Toyota car, truck, van, or SUV, you can rest assured you’re getting a high-quality vehicle that will last for many years/miles down the road.
Do some online research and check out the resale value of the Toyota Tacoma. They hold their value incredibly well and that’s in part due to the quality craftsmanship and engineering of the truck. The Tacoma is also a great everyday transportation option. Higher trim levels include premium amenities that make your daily commute in the Sarasota and Englewood areas a total pleasure.

While the Tacoma name didn’t officially appear on a Toyota truck until 1995, the manufacturer had offered a smaller size truck for quite some time. With the launch of the Tacoma nameplate in the North American market, Toyota announced that it was ready to take on midsized trucks from rivals Ford and Chevrolet.
The Tacoma saw relative sales success during its initial years on the market, but sales momentum significantly increased with the release of a double version of the truck in 2001.
The second generation of the Tacoma was released in 2005 and the manufacturer made significant strides in interior technologies and engine power/efficiencies.
